Spending a weekend visiting Alex with Adam. Lots of sangria and a great walk up some big hills to castles and (more) art.
May – Nice, France
A long weekend to the south of France. To the beach, roller-blading along the promenade, and…
May – Monaco, France
Technically a separate country… well separate state… principality.. whatever. The important thing is I saw two Bugatti Veyrons in about as many hours… TWO! This place was mental.
June – Hannover, Germany
A visit to the wonderful Sophie Jones in Germany. Some great countryside, lots of tourist fun and a random night out watching the World Cup.
September – Amsterdam, Netherlands
Since it was pretty much everyone’s birthday at the same time, this was a crazy little weekend with a large group of us. Tandems, bagels, Van Gogh… good times :)
November – Paris, France
My first international conference was also a good excuse to spend a few more days exploring the beautiful French capital. Even though this was far from my first time there I saw plenty of new things, including the catacombs, which was an experience to say the least.
The Next Adventure
Not content with that fairly well-rounded list of places, Emily and I are about to head off for a trip long in the making. We’re going somewhere I’ve been so excited to visit for as long as I can remember, and this Friday we’re actually going. New Zealand. For a month. We have a campervan hired, trips down caves planned, bungee jumping, rafting, hiking up volcanoes, kayaking, geysers, Lord of the Rings places… OH MY GOD I’M SO EXCITED I CAN’T EVEN.
I’ll be updating my Facebook, Instagram, twitter with things as we go on our travels, but don’t expect too many blog posts for the next month. But do expect a lot of photos and videos in January!
